IGCS is dedicated to equipping young talents with sustainability knowledge through initiatives like the annual interdisciplinary Summer and Winter Schools. These two-week programs focus on IGCS’s key areas and include lectures, discussions, group work, and field trips. Winter Schools are held at IIT Madras in February/March, while Summer Schools take place at a German partner university in June/July, with scholarships provided for up to 30 selected participants.

IGCS Summer School 2024 at RWTH Aachen

IGCS Summer Schools

The Summer School takes place at one German partner university in June / July. The schools are held under the motto of one of our IGCS focus areas and are organized by the respective area coordinators and their partners. The itinerary is about two weeks long and consists of lectures, discussions, group work and field trips. Up to 30 selected candidates are supported with a scholarship that covers travel expenses and a lump sum.

The Winter Schools take place at IIT Madras in Chennai, India, in February / March. IGCS-motan Workshops

The IGCS-motan collaborative efforts are dedicated to helping students from Indian and German academic institutions to develop and foster sustainable ideas. This workshop is a continuation of our joint vision: incorporate innovative and sustainable ideas generation in interdisciplinary research, teaching, training, and exchange in the area of sustainable development.
