German-Indian Ideas Competition: From waste to resource – how can we turn garbage into gold?

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is seeking ideas to tackle India’s waste problem. The international BMBF campaign Shaping the Future – Building the City of Tomorrow(www.shaping-the-future.org), which will get under way in spring 2016, focuses on the question of how cities can be maintained as viable, sustainable living spaces. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the initiative “Germany – Land of Ideas” will be holding an ideas competition “From waste to resource – how can we turn garbage into gold?” from 27 April to 10 June 2016 as part of this campaign. The ideas competition aims not only to find forward-looking, sustainable ideas to solve the waste disposal problem in Indian cities, but also to enhance the dialogue and exchange of ideas between India and Germany.
